DOC á READER Porch Swing Girl ë MBJUK ´ What if friendship cost you everything?Stranded in Hawaii after the death of her mother sixteen year old Olive Galloway is desperate to escape She has to get back to Boston before her dad loses all common sense and sells the family house But plane tickets cost money—something Olive gravely What if friendship cost you everything?Stranded in Hawaii after the death of her mother sixteen year old Olive Galloway is desperate to escape She has to get back to Boston before her dad loses all common sense and sells the family house But plane tickets cost money something Olive 45 starsThis was a really sweet and refreshing summery story that might have put me in a summery mood Not a huge summer fan here I could see the amazing Hawaiian setting the whole time and I was than happy to be immersed in that culture and Olive's life All of the characters had this sweet side that made them lovable even when they were predictable or I couldn't relate It was neat to see Olive's struggle with faith the hardships around her and the shift in her mindset That last one particularly reuired a lot of her and I loved that The entire story was fresh even when it wasn't lightheartedThe real reason I removed a half star is that the storyline wasn't stellar in my opinion It was fairly straightforward but executed well I also prefer faith and Christian elements in books to be a little personal and less evangelical I guess? That's just my preference because I'm not as outgoing or contemporary or as much of an intentional evangelist as some of the characters were So it was still realistic but not my flavor ;I recommend for 10 just for reading level some difficult circumstances and light romance

Porch Swing Girl Tradewinds #1 Gravely lacksWith the help of Brander the fussy youth group worship leader and Jazz a mysterious girl with a passion for all things Hawaiian Olive lands a summer job at the Shave Ice Shack and launches a scheme to buy a plane ticket home before the end of the summerBut when Jazz r Official Rating Four StarsPorch Swing Girl was one of my most memorable summer reads Taylor Bennet's debut has left me wanting even of her writing What I LovedThe setting Hawaii shave ice sandy beaches sunshiny days scores of tourists plenty of coconut and pineapple and so much YES Enough said 3 The message I believe that the message of Porch Swing Girl is one that everyone must hear for it is one that can change one's life and bring hope and healing 3 The characters I LOVED JAZZY SO MUCH She was my favorite character in the whole book I wish she was real because then we could sit and chat over some shave ice And then Olive's grandma and her sister Oh I wish that they were all real Brander's future bonfire Just read the book okay? xD What I Didn't LoveOlive got on my nerves at some times She seemed a bit whiny at times in my opinion A bit whiny and moody but she made up for it It felt a bit preachy at times Olive's friends and grandmother seemed to preach a bit to Olive It happens a lot in Christian fiction and I felt that the message could've been delivered just as strongly if not even so without all of the preachiness OverallOverall this was a weekend read that was at times heartbreaking at times wildly fun and all in all a novel that I highly recommend uote From the NovelAloha hello and goodbye And something else I pull out my phone and do a search Aloha Hello Goodbye And love Porch Swing Girl by Taylor Bennet
